If you haven’t already seen this, you MUST check out this recipe for oven-roasted broccoli:

You basically just mix up broccoli, garlic, pinenuts (optional), salt and pepper and roast in the oven, and then squeeze lemon juice over it all. Somehow the combination of the caramelization and the citrus is insanely delicious. Try it even if you don’t like broccoli — it will change your mind!
This is definitely my favorite way to prepare broccoli, but you do have to be careful not to over-lemon it.
What if I like broccoli but not caramelized vegetables? Will I still like it?
hmmm, that is a tough question. it is definitely a bit sweeter than broccoli is normally, but it’s thoroughly counter-acted by the sourness of the lemon. i think you should still try it, as i have yet to find anyone who dislikes it!
that sounds… awesome. I shall try it!
also I love that you posted something. I suck and have nearly forgotten this blog.
yeah i have a few more recipes that i have been meaning to put on, but mostly i have just been trying out old posts that i didn’t have time to do last semester. beer-battered fish is now a favorite here!
addendum: tried adding pine nuts for the first time last night. didn’t really do much for me (even though i love pine nuts). maybe because i didn’t roast them thoroughly? anyway, given the exorbitant price i wouldn’t suggest adding them unless you already have some lying around…
